Life of a Diva busy!

I have been busy living life and not on my computer! I know I start a lot of posts with that general thought but it is so true! Since I got Abby and Kel moved in I just have less "me" down time. My working hours have changed from later day start to mid-day so I am trying getting used to that.

Kel moved in with us (from NY) so we are looking for a bigger, nicer apartment or house to rent.
In trying to move I/we are sorting and packing but no place to move to yet. We all agree an outdoor space is a must for the dog (Abby) and us. I would love an extra room and or garage for projects and tools. Close to my parents would be handy too.

I got Abby 5 months earlier than I planned. Long story but am glad she is here! I did not have the money saved up. My building does not allow dogs but that does not stop anyone else. I had talked to my doctor a year ago about my difficulty with peri-menopause. Mood swings, great sadness and the fluctuating mood and weight among other things. I had stated I did not want to talk about mood elevators. I thought a dog would be good for my mental well being. I will say "I told you so" this time. Abby has really done wonders for my mental health! I typically laugh within 5 minutes of waking up and many times throughout the day. She is my mood elevator.
Abby got real sick a few weeks after her spay and I had to rush her to the vet - unrelated to spay but she probably picked up the virus for Pneumonia from her overnight visit. She is fine now but she gave us a real scare!

My car broke down after dropping her off to get spayed in March. My work situation is sucky (again) I have to take any shift I can pick up since I am back to 2-3 days scheduled. I have been getting enough and/or OT but I cant plan anything! Who needs a social life anyway?

I am trying to find a better (secure) job to work at so I can do online realty school at the same time. I really feel this is the place for me.

So, I have been busy living life and trying to make the world of this Diva better along with my entourage. How you doing?

DJ is coming over Thursday to finally meet Abby and Kel. I have dared him to get a few good photos of Abby that are not blurry. We shall see

Three days off work in a row is rare in my world. Get real, more than one at a time is rare! Awesome!

Happy day of Family Food Feast

Happy Thanksgiving! Today is our family feast and giving of Thanks. Thanksgiving is not really about the food but it is a nice bonus. My mom is a great cook. I should be in total coma after we get home this evening.

I am thankful for all that I have accomplished since living on my own. I do work hard but am so grateful I can do it. To be able to pay bills, have my family, express my creativity, bike and make my home the way I enjoy it is priceless. I truly am thankful daily.

Wil found us an awesome Black Friday internet deal. We got a 37 inch flat screen (1080p, HD, LCE LED) and blue ray player for under $500. I am finally able to get the silver and black elephant out of my living room! The room looks so much bigger and feels bigger now! I was also able to move the entertainment center back 8-10 inches so we have more walking room. I woke up at 3am and went out to see it again. I am a goof. We are gaving the elephant to Wils friend Cory. I could have sold it on CL but I would rather pass on the good fortune.

Got my Lemon Cypress tree back from my parents. It grew massive in the burbs! I spent most of my day off Wednesday (while waiting for my packages) rearranging the garden, trimming back the tree then putting on the lights and beads I got last year. I sure enjoy looking out at it all pretty.

The over time has stopped for now so I will have more time to work on my chair, the apartment and fun. There will be more in the near future but until then I will be thankful for free time.

Not what I expected

So I just paid rent and a few bills and feel poor already! I cant completely complain though. I did not use the "half of rent" I had saved from the last pay check. I hope I can leave it untouched and keep the rest if my spending to $300 I have left. We shall see.

I received an e-mail from the guy I briefly dated this summer. He said he felt "no spark" so we agreed to be music buddies. Anyway the whole kiss at the end really through me. After he moved to Washington DC I asked him what that was about. I never heard back until this last week. Imagine my surprise when he said such things like "
The last time, yes I wanted to make out very much. Want to go somewhere and be alone and smootch for a bit. I did not get that vibe from you. Kind of got a bit of buddy thing there from you. Just an awkward situation." Um, okay. You said there was no spark . . . "And with you not driving it seemed tough to have you visit me in Vancouver." What? I guess when we met in my neighborhood or DT I walked or took the Trolley so you assumed I had no car? Have you tried parking in my neighborhood? "So who knows, had we spent sometime watching a movie or some such quiet time it might have played out differently." Really? Don't you think it would have played out differently had you communicated your feelings with me in the first place? I had no idea! You were the one too busy to hang out anyway. You even blew me off on your last weekend after you asked me to save Saturday night!

There endeth the rant.

Be Thankful for who you are

Don't call me Captain Obvious just roll with the title. While I don't like dealing with the "Unstable One" but I am thankful to have a job. I do earn a ridiculous salary but have to join a union like now. The union does not want me to work at any other job but seriously. I have a lot of overtime but am only scheduled for 4 days per week in the next couple weeks schedule. The short of it is I have a job that is "temporary". I hate being in this position again! I just want to have permanence and plan for the future.

I am thankful for being a hot Bitch at 49 years of age, enjoying my family, having a roof over my head, having a job in this economy, having my health, the good fortune to bike nearly everyday, a creative mind and paying my bills. There are always variables but this is who I am.

Enjoy you and yours. Happy Thanksgiving.

I did not know

So I have been stressed lately but really? I have to work with a unstable person almost every night. Nobody else can stand her and they wont pick up the third shift if it is open because they don't want to be around her. Yes, that bad. I went to bed last night after the news at 11:30pm. I did not set an alarm (8:45am) thinking I might sleep in until 9:30 but I have not done that for awhile. I woke up at 11:00am - what! This is my only day off until the following Wednesday! I wanted to work on the chair project today but am taking "the day off". I am going to catch up on things, putter and of course bike. There is a huge storm front coming in the next few days that may dump up to 6 inches of rain in the Metro area. It was down near freezing with a freezing level at 1000 feet but with this storm coming in it is 47 currently and to get slightly warmer. Anyway, I don't think I will have the opportunity to bike after today so I must get my butt moving. Well, I could if I had scuba gear. I hope to get some unfinished posts done later today. Stay tuned!

I know it's not Sunday . . . .

I know it's not Sunday but I got a busy Sunday that includes a 2 year old boys birthday party, a bike ride, hopefully some housework and work. Yes, with my boss out of town for 5 days the fill-in Pharmacist has us working Sunday early evening for 4 hours and a short Monday or possibly a a two part day.

The online dating is painful but I am trying (so hard) to keep an open mind and a glass-half-full attitude.

Rethinking my position

Today was my first day at the "new" (also refered to as the second)job. I have been thinking about it all wrong. They are excited to have me to work there and folks are thrilled to see me. In my training they are saying I was a rockstar so I wont need much training even though it's been two years. It is so different than at my regular job. People are nice, caring and happy to be at work. They treat each other with respect and kindness. Holy shit, what have I been putting up with at the regular gig!?!?! Half the pay sucks but being in a happy place, priceless.
